Infill Drilling

Shallow and tight gas formations often use carefully-designed drilling and completion plans to maximize economic recovery of natural gas. Optimal drilling density goes hand-in-hand with production optimization: unrestricted natural gas wells demonstrate stronger production, higher reserve recovery, and generally require a lower well density.

Clover Resources will perform an area- and zone-specific review and simulation to understand the variables affecting gas recoveries. Using historical production and facility data, development cost estimates, as well as information about similar offsetting operations, Clover can determine optimal drilling density.

Non-technical factors often come into play here, including regulatory requirements, environmental factors, surface land use issues and waste management. Understanding the technical and operational elements enables our clients to better negotiate system-wide solutions. Better yet, optimized production may mitigate the need for some infill drilling.
