In
the current high gas price environment, shallow gas fields have
been developed to higher densities than ever before. Lower drilling,
completion and tie-in costs for shallow gas have also enabled operators
to drill more wells per section. Understanding the best well density
for a certain field and for a specific set of corporate objectives,
however, is a complex task, and one at which Clover Resources has
had much experience.
Infill drilling
studies are an important and popular service at Clover Resources.
Clover reviews shallow gas fields to determine the most appropriate
drilling density for each of the target formations. Understanding
the physical reservoir properties, completion effectiveness of the
existing wells, pipeline pressures, liquid loading and other operational
issues should all factor into the decision to increase well density.
Clover is equipped with in-house software and technical expertise
to evaluate all of these elements of the problem, and match these
to corporate objectives and determine the optimal density of shallow
gas wells for each target formation.
